ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ships NASR and SAIF have reached Malaysian port of Langkawi to participate in Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) Exhibition 2017.
Pakistan Navy flotilla is commanded by Commodore Zaka ur Rehman, Commander 25th Destroyer Squadron. PN Ships were received by senior officials of Royal Malaysian Navy and Pakistan Embassy staff at Langkawi,. Pakistan and Royal Malaysian Navies enjoy very warm and cordial relations based on various commonalities. Royal Malaysian Navy actively participated in recently conducted Multinational Naval Exercise AMAN-17 at Karachi, under the auspices of Pakistan Navy.
Pakistan Navy Ships also regularly participate in the biennially held LIMA exhibitions/exercises at Langkawi to promote friendship and interoperability with Malaysia and other regional countries. This time too, a SWORD Class Frigate SAIF and Combat Support Ship NASR with onboard helicopters is participating in LIMA 17. Upon culmination of this event, PN and RMN ships and aircraft will also conduct first bilateral naval exercise MALPAK-17, which is a testimony of growing cooperation between the two Navies. It is expected that recent visit by PN Ships to Malaysia and participation in (LIMA) Exhibition 2017 will further strengthen bilateral relations and naval collaboration between both the navies.
